This course will be the perfect fit for you if you want to work in the fitness industry or progress to becoming a personal trainer. This qualification will develop your ability to work with clients to meet their fitness goals, safely and effectively.
Units include:
- anatomy and physiology for exercise
- health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment
- principles of exercise, fitness and health
- know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity
- planning and instructing gym-based exercise.
You will develop interpersonal, written and practical delivery skills as well as having time to develop your own physique in order to be ready to work in the industry. This qualification is desired by the fitness industry, so you can work as a personal trainer once qualified after a year.
There will be opportunities to undertake work experience to learn from working PTs, and develop your employability. You will also be encouraged to complete a first aid qualification.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English language.
You will have a 9.55am start, one lesson in the morning, one in the afternoon and a guaranteed 4pm finish. You will also have at least one morning and one afternoon per week free for private study.
Assessments will comprise 60% personal investigation and 40% externally set practical exam. Your coursework is internally assessed and externally moderated.
On completion of this course, you are qualified to run group exercise classes and find employment in a gym. You can also progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training and work towards being a personal trainer.
